Has gone downhill in the past few years. Sushi isn’t as fresh, Chinese food isn’t as tasty, service is slow.
A visit at this restaurant in 1990 when I lived in Amherst 29 years later still standing strong and serving the finest and Deli cioso Chinese food in Amherst the food was awesome the server was spectacular still sharing fine memories of 29 years ago as they are the original owners so if you're in the Amherst area and you looking to eat some Chinese food on the East is where you need to be we're your satisfaction and your hunger meets
Great service and variety of dishes.
I consistently enjoy the food and service here. Staff is friendly and the orders come quickly. In 20 years I have only had one unfortunate meal. I don't even manage that at home! 🤗
Delicious food, reasonably priced, and very kind wait staff
Excellent service & food. Location not easy to find. Cannot see any sign from main Street.
Pretty awful, everything was very bland. The dumplings were disgusting, completely inedible. White sauce on chicken and mixed vegetables, which is always a let down- generally expect brown sauce, tasted like plain chicken broth. General Tso chicken had very little flavor, mostly garlic, but the pieces were a good size and chicken was moist. Also vastly overpriced and you can only get large sizes. I honestly wanted to bring it back for a refund.
Consistent food with no surprises. Reasonable prices and large portions. Takeout is always hot and fresh. The entire staff is helpful and friendly.
Good service. Great lunch price.
Great menu selection, wonderful staff!!
Food so good long time coming here. Moo Shoo so good.
My favorite place great good fun place
Great food!
Love the sushi. Good prices. Been going here since I was in elementary school. They have a full Chinese menu and a conventional Chinese menu and great sushi. Great lunch prices and special. Love the soups as well
Easily one of the worst Chinese restaurants I've ever been. Cold, dirty, okay service and the food is subpar. I'd rather eat at the UMass dining hall.
Polite & personable owners/staff!!! Very cool restaurant
Good service & lots of options to choose from
Good asian food amherst area
Same great food and service downtown Amherst 👍👍
It's just ok. Disappointing crab rangoon
My mother lives right next to Panda East. We eat there a lot, not just out of convenience but because it is the best Chinese food in the area. You can tell just by looking at it, that the food is separated so well and not like a bunch of mush. The food is just as good as any place I've tried in Boston, where I am from. The service is exceptional and the staff welcomes you with smile filled greetings. I would recommend this to the most fickle. Nothing bad to say about it. We go here all of the time.
Great selection of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean food at reasonable prices. Quick service and friendly staff.
This place is yummier than most of the Chinese restaurants in the greater Boston area! A must go place in Amherst!! Love it!
We absolutely love Panda East. Great food and great service. Been going for over a decade and never disappointed.
Great Food!!!I recommend this place to anyone price good and good quality food thanks!!!
The waiter was very rude and my friends and I were forced to order from a section that we did not want.
Favorite place in Amherst!
One of my favorite restaurants in the Valley. It’s all about the Szechuan menu! Fish in Ma La sauce. Szechuan fries. Dozens of incredibly delicious authentic Szechuan dishes. Addicted!
Panda East is your traditional American Chinese food. They have quick service with great food. If take out or delivery is more your thing they offer both of those.
This restaurant is disgusting! My partner and I stopped by to grabbed some lunch because it looked promising, but unfortunately that was not the case, as there was a long black beetle in my partner’s dish! I immediately lost my appetite and we ran out of there as quickly as possible (they fortunately did not charge my partner for his dish). The waiter did not seem fazed at all by this, and you know that if one bug can make its way into the food, there are sure to be more in that kitchen.
My family has eaten take out from here on multiple occasions (I cannot comment on dine in). They give really good portions. The food is not too salty but has great flavor. The fried rice is really good. The Lo mein noodles are not my favorite. The sweet and sour soup is really tasty. The speed of the takeout is great. Overall a great Chinese food place.
Certainly the most 'Americanized' staff yet authentic Mainland China recipes and taste, I ever have been part of. The restaurant if not exceptional is certainly above average and I see no reason why one shouldn't go there.
We went on a Wednesday around 8:30 pm. There were only two other people there. We got drinks and food, the food came out quickly and everything tasted great. They were quick with the drinks too. The place was clean but freezing. Also a little pricy, but I think that was because of the drinks we got. 5 people, $132 which is a lot of money but we got 2 scorpion bowls and other drinks. I would go there again but maybe only get an appetizer.
Upon arriving, the waiter coughed into his open hand as he grabbed menus and seated us. After we saw how filthy all four pieces of the glassware at our table were, one of my party exclaimed, "this is filthy," while scratching her fingernail on whatever residue it was that had made the clear glass milky. Our party fled the restaurant before the waiter returned. One star only because the building wasn't on fire; no points for anything else.
We got to the restaurant late; after packing up my son's dorm room and stuffing everything into the car. We were exhausted and starved. Thankfully, they welcomed us gracefully, and Jessie was the consummate server, helping w meal selection as the chef was leaving in 15 minutes! The meal was superb--hot as all getout, but they kept the ice water coming! They had allowed a small party of graduates to play sime music loud for their celebration, and Jessie explained that that was not a normal occurrence, and made sure it wasn't bothering us. All in all, a great experience. Highly recommend!!
Fast and efficient service. (Best friend rice I've had in years)
Food is not as good nor orginal (very americanized) as other Chinese restaurant around town, service ranges from good to extremely poor depends on if the owner if serving you (he does not treat customers well, just trying to get the money and get you out), i personally really dislike this place.
Largest menu of any Japanese Chinese restaurant I know of. Great service. And the most important thing the food was excellent.
The food here is good but the service needs improvement. Sometimes, one of the male staff in this restaurant is quite rude to the customers. He gets visibly upset over basic requests like water refill and kind of throws the dishes on the table. I would like to visit this place more often for the food and price but the service here makes me reconsider.
I have been eating here / take out for years. Food and service has always been the best. However, today, I made a large ordering and they sort of messed up, it was not that busy. I think maybe a bag was missing. They missed one part of our order and there was not the bag of soy / duck sauce, fortune cookies or chopsticks. I would have gone back but I live 30 minutes away. I have to believe some one was a sleep at the wheel. They have been too good for too long, I will be back. I hope tonight was a fluke.
Ask for their recommendations. We were blown away with the quality of the food!
Affordable and delicious sushi with a staff that pays attention to the finest detail for you
Good American-Chinese food. But why’d you have to hang up so quickly every time I order delivery?!
I placed an online order THROUGH THEIR OWN WEBSITE at 11:40 am and was told it would be delivered in 45 to 65 minutes. I called at 1:18pm to see when my order would be delivered. The woman who answered the phone said she didn’t get an online take out order, and when I tried to explain when, where and how I placed it she just kept yelling that she didn’t have an online order. I went to another restaurant for my food. A driver JUST showed up with my food at 4:40; 5 hours later!!!! I took the food because I gave my CC# that morning with my order and they already charged me. I’m not eating this food because I already have Chinese food from a better-run restaurant.Another you’ve-got-to-be-kidding moment is the slip says I placed the order at 4:03pm. Never again!!!!!!
Good food for the price. Quick fix for chinese food cravings. Mala chicken & chicken casserole are one of my fav dishes. For Indians, the fried chicken is the closest it gets to chicken lollipop.
Good quality and tasty Chinese food. Consistent service for more than 30 years.
Pretty good food for fair prices. I ate here a lot when I lived in Amherst.
Travelers, this is a solid Chinese restaurant with a good menu. Service is nice and fast. We recommend.
Great sushi, friendly staff. Love this place!
